what is the size band in the video?
I'm exciting
John, You have given another one of your Microsoft hating, Dooshbag reviews. How could I expect you to change your ways. This Microsoft Band 2 is great Loaded to the gills with sensors. The top shelf of FITNESS bands = Premium, and the ONLY drawback is that it is not waterproof, just water resistant. (Next version Microsoft!) It last up to 2 days, and charges very fast plugged in, while I take a shower and get dressed. I'm loving it, and the apps that keep coming to it. It has a color screen with better resolution and more functions than the Fitbit, and other fitness bands. It's accuracy challenges the most accurate and trusted brands on the market. (Smart watches are gimmicky and need not apply!). Microsoft Band 2 FTW!!! Go Buy One and enjoy on Windows Phone, Android, & Apple Smartphones.
what ever microsoft says you should Never wear the display upside down. let's hope the band 3 has a way way way thinner battery on the strap as it is not practical when siting at desk typing all day.
I got one of these two months ago, and I absolutely love it. I'm not into the fitness life, but I got it just to, well, just to get it. It blew my mind and it does a lot more than keep track of fitness things. 9/10. Not a perfect 10 because I have troubles with it connected with my phone via BlueTooth whenever I disconnect it. The Band 2 does not disconnect by it self, unless you move your phone and it away from one another by about 40 feet, then it will disconnect from it. But it will automatically reconnect when you get back in range.
Pretty much just don't purposely disconnect it. It takes 5-10 minutes for the watch and your phone to find and link up with one another after that for some reason.
Microsoft is working on fixing this soon with updates, so by the time some people might read this, the issue will be solved.
The problem with entry level smartwatches are that they don't work on Windows Mobile.
Also, the Microsoft Band 2 is claimed to be a new category for wearables.
It has automatic sleep tracking and includes smart alarms (similar to sleep cycle)
I would just go for an original Pebble watch for $60, then buy a Bluetooth chest strap for an accurate heartrate monitoring, and still have money left over. The Pebble watch can show HR in real time with the chest strap connected to the phone.
it is waterproof and has a 7 day battery life.
they need to make a watch and give it a sort of flat/curved screen with a wide aspect ratio instead of this band thing
i consider this to be as good (if not better) than smart watches… I mean it has texting, and calling. That, combined with all the fitness stuff, i would say this is almost better. (Coming from someone who has a Moto 360 1st gen)
Edit: Oh and it lasts wayyyy longer than some (most?) smartwatches. I only get about 10 hours out of my moto.
Rather have this than any of the smartwatches thanks. I just wish it had music controls built in.
Honestly, why would I prefer a smartwatch over a fitness tracker? What's the added value of a smartwatch? But, I never had one so feel free to explain it to me.
Both versions of the Band have automatic sleep tracking. If you rest for at least 2 hours the Band will begin taking your sleep. With automatic tracking about 2-3 hours after you wake up it will calculate and display the sleep tracking in the app.
I am getting one soon to replace the band 1.
It does more than the Apple Watch… and still it ain't getting compared to one… Only PhoneArena! :DApple Watch less than 18 hour battery life… AND you can't use it during the night since it has to recharge.Microsoft Band 2.. more than 48 hour battery life… AND it only need 1.5 hour recharge.
this is the ugliest smart band ever
Thank you for the review
I thought it got auto sleep tracker?
0:19–0:23 don't ever do that again.
not impressed with the build quality. bezels are a turn off. that bulky sensor thingy under the wrist. do I sound enough like a hater yet?
Lol a black cat crossing your path is considered bad luck John
